In its 81St JCE plenary meeting held in Yola, Adamawa state, the federal government, in person of Permanently secretary for the ministry of education, has moved that it is working to upshot a permanent solution to the incessant industrial action authored by ASUU

The plenary meeting themed: strengthening of security and safety in Nigerian schools for the achievement of education 2030 agenda, a 5-day convergence, saw Mr. Andrew David Adejo on Monday move a notion that things are being appropriated in order to resolve the ongoing industrial action; this was given as a certainty to prying newsmen and journalist at the side of the meeting.
He assured that not only would the 5-month-old strike be terminated but as well, future ones forestalled by temporary compensations.
He said;
“Government is doing everything to make sure that ASUU members come back to work…as I speak, I can assure you that government isn’t asleep over our children not being in school. Issues being discussed are such that when perfected, ASUU will not have to ever go on strike again”

Following his reply, he was questioned about the college of education academic staff union (COASU) which has also engendered an industrial action as a funnel to press home their demands, he said; soon enough the COASU would call off their strike as their issues have gone far in deliberation.
He said verbatim:
“COASU are very likely to call off their strike soon because the issues are being addressed and discussions have gone far”
