Though easy, this process has a service charge of about 20 Naira, depending on what your network operator chooses to deduct.
How to check BVN on Airtel: To check your BVN using your mobile phone on an Airtel phone number, one must first dial the USSD, *565*0#. After doing this, a customer should be deducted an amount of 20 naira. This means one must have a reasonable amount of call units or airtime to perform this operation.
How to check BVN on Glo: The Glo network is not any different. If you happen to use the Glo network and consider that it is time to check your BVN, probably because it is an urgent one, all you need to do is to have just enough airtime for the Glo network to deduct at least 20 nairas from your account balance. Dial the USSD code, *565*0# and wait for a few minutes, then, you will have the 11-digit number on your screen.
The second, one would need data and a smartphone or a tab with his or her bank’s mobile app. If you do not have the mobile app for your bank, another assuring way to get it is by visiting your bank portal online, then check for the customer service information portal. There you can find a way to access or get your BVN.
Getting your BVN is really important. After going through all of these processes, you want to be sure that you save the 11 digit somewhere safe or even as a contact, in order to not always repeat the same process to get one thing done.
If you want to check your BVN according to the bank you use, it is definitely not a problem, because the USSD code given above, which is *565*0# can be used by any bank. The only time one would not use the code to get a BVN is if the person insists on visiting the bank’s site or to use the bank’s mobile app.
One very important thing to not forget also is that, you must always dial that code with the number you used to register that bank account, else the code will not respond. Do not forget also, that your BVN is an identity, it must be kept safe. If revealed to strangers or fraudsters, you might lose all your money, guard and keep it safe.
