To reduce unemployment in Nigeria, the Nigerian government has planned to train over three million Nigerians in 12 tech skills. The 3MTT (3 Million Tech Talent) program, an initiative of the federal government of Nigeria, aims to train interested Nigerians in these twelve tech courses including artificial intelligence.

The program was divided into three phases, the first was to cover only 30,000 people and the second phase was to accommodate 300,000 people while the program will complete its expected training of 3 million Nigerians in the third phase.

The first phase of the program which is in line with the ministry’s 1%-10%-100% implementation of the 3MTT program is set to cover 30,000 people. It will be executed in partnership with the NITDA and involving stakeholders, training providers, partners, placement organizations and fellows.

Are these the only skills to be covered in the training?

The skills that are listed above are the only skills to be covered in the first phase of the training but other skills will be added in subsequent training.

Is there any commitment fee required for selection?

There is no commitment fee required for selection in this phase of the programme

How long will this phase of the programme run

The courses offered in this phase of the programme will run for three months

Is there any mandatory physical training section

The program combines both online and physical training, so there may be aspects of the training which may require physical attendance.

Are there any financial support for transport, meals and other services in this phase of the training

The only financial support that you’ll get is taking care of the cost of training, participants will take responsibility for their transport, meals and other costs of training.

Is writing an entry assessment required?

Yes, you will write an entry assessment to enable them to select the most applicable course for each fellow.

For Training Providers

Can Individual trainers apply for the programme?

No, only trainers that are duly registered organizations are accepted in the training.

Can Trainers without any physical facilities apply for the programme

Training providers without any physical facility can apply for consideration but the need for physical facilities may arise where required

Can a Training Provider implement across multiple locations

Yes, a training provider can implement across multiple locations if only they can prove that they are capable of effectively implementing across multiple locations.

Will the government be solely responsible for sourcing training fellows?

No, it is open to everyone.

To be among a Selected training provider, is there any fee I am required to pay

There is no fee required for you to be selected as a training provider.

What is the deadline for registration?

There is no deadline for registration which means that training providers who didn’t participate in the first phase of the training will be selected for future phases.

This program is open to every Nigerian and youth for they to increase their knowledge and acquire new digital skills that will help them thrive in the future. There are benefits of participating actively in the training plus the knowledge you will gain in the digital world.
