For the correction of errors in NIN registration, there are things that you are required to do, including the documents you are to provide, and they are listed below:

- Original copy of the first NIN slip given to you
- Printout of the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number or receipt you used for payment via Remita.
- Application letter signed by you on the change you wish to make to your data

Procedures for the Corrections of Mistakes in NIN Registration
For the correction of your data or mistake in NIN registration, here are the guidelines to follow:
- Visit any NIMC office nearest to you
- Request for modification of your data, you will be given a form, fill it
- Double-check the details and submit it to the enrollment officer
- The enrollment officer will upload the details using their software
- You will be asked to cross-check the data uploaded
- Your biometrics will also be captured using the biometric capture system
- A Transaction ID slip will be printed and given to you
- The next step is to submit the previous NIN slip to the NIMC office
- You will be told when you’ll come for the new NIN slip
Note: The price for changing your Date of Birth is N15,000, while the price for correcting your name is N500 via the portal, and you must pay it via remita. You can visit any nearest NIMC office for more guidance.
