The National Treasury funds the Infrastructure Skills Development Grant (ISDG) Graduate Trainee Programme, which is a three-year initiative that provides practical training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for aspiring engineers seeking professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
As a participant, you will gain the professional competencies, leadership skills, and technical expertise needed to drive sustainable development within the city.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Applicants must be South African citizens
- Applicants must not be more than 35 years of age
- Applicants must be currently unemployed
- Applicants must hold a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BTech, BEng, BSc, MTech, MEng, MSc, or PhD in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Applicants must be eligible for registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer, Technologist, or Technician.
- Applicants must possess a Code B driver’s licence.
Graduates who successfully complete the programme will emerge as confident, capable professionals ready to register with ECSA and contribute meaningfully to the engineering sector.
