Samsung Unveils New Devices\u00a0 – What You Need to Know About The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9<\/h2>\n

Samsung has introduced the latest device, which is the new Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip phones and the latest Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Watch. The unveiling event took place in Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\nThe Galaxy Z Fold 5 has undergone notable improvements, featuring a new flex hinge that allows the device to close without any gap around the hinge area, a first for Samsung’s larger foldable phones. While the overall design hasn’t undergone a major overhaul, it remains the top contender among Samsung’s folding lineup. The device is now equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 processor, similar to the one used in the Galaxy S23 line, along with a brighter internal display and a thinner S Pen stylus.
\nVisually, the Z Fold 5 bears resemblance to its predecessors, the Z Fold 4 and Z Fold 3, with unchanged front and internal screen sizes. It continues to offer the practical “flex mode,” enabling users to prop the foldable device up like a mini laptop, along with IPX8 water-resistance. However, it’s worth noting that CNET’s Lisa Eadicicco still found the crease visible on the screen.
\nAs with recent Z Fold models, the new Z Fold 5 will start at $1,800 (\u00a31,749, AU\u00a32,599) upon its release in stores on August 11th.

\nThe Galaxy Flip 5 resembles the Z Fold 5 but received more significant updates. Notably, it boasts a redesigned front screen measuring 3.4 inches from the previous 1.9 inches. This enhancement allows Samsung to compete more effectively with Motorola’s recent Razr Plus, which features a 3.6-inch front display. However, the Z Flip’s front screen has limitations, as only certain apps can run on it initially.
\nBesides the front display upgrade, the Z Flip 5 also runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Gen 2 processor, boasting a new hinge that allows a completely flat closure.

\nDespite the improvements, the starting price remains unchanged, with the Z Flip 5 set to start at $999 (\u00a31,049, AU$1,649), the same as the Z Flip 4. The new flip phone will be available in stores starting August 11.

\nSamsung has significantly enhanced the Galaxy Watch 6, featuring larger batteries, bigger screens, and the return of the rotating bezel on the Classic model, which was last seen on the 2021 Galaxy Watch 4.
\nWhile most improvements are incremental, the new Watch 6 is available in 40mm or 44mm variants, with screen sizes of approximately 1.3 and 1.5 inches, respectively. The Classic version is offered in either 43mm or 47mm sizes, with similar display sizes.
\nRegarding sensors, the Watch 6 line boasts similar features for heart rate monitoring, skin temperature tracking, and bioimpedance for body composition analysis. The software continues to run on Google’s Wear OS, and Samsung has announced the forthcoming introduction of a new Gmail app for the platform. Samsung’s One UI remains an integral part of the platform, providing improved insights into sleep patterns.

The new Tab S9 line features enhanced Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 processors and IP68-rated water- and dust-resistant designs, applying to both the tablet and the S Pen stylus. The tablets offer varying screen sizes, with 11 inches on the base S9, 12.4 inches on the S9 Plus, and 14.6 inches on the S9 Ultra. Additionally, they come in a neutral colour option.
