Tobi Amusan the new world record holder in the 100 metres women’s hurdles, has enticed a lot of people on social media to confess their love for Amusan, following her sensational impact at the just-concluded World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
Tobi Amusan broke the 100 metres hurdles record with a sensational semi-final time of 12.12secs to surpass Kendra Harrison’s 2016 record by 0.08secs and even ran much better in the final – but her 12.06secs was ruled unqualified by an illegal tailwind.
Prior to her feat in the World Athletics Championships in Oregon on Monday, the athlete (Amusan) had less than 3k followers on her Twitter handle, but her followers suddenly increased to over 80k followers as of Wednesday evening.
While a lot of congratulatory messages poured in for Amusan the new champion, some men took the opportunity to confess their affection for the Nigerian hurdler.
Among her admires is a user with the name AWL, who wrote, “Tobi do you remember me? We sat close to each other in primary. I’ve always had a crush on you, kindly text me.”
Seyi Pounds also added, “Big Congratulations baby girl!!! Had it been I knew you will break this record, I swear I wouldn’t have broken up with you!!! Can we start all over again please?”
Another Twitter user Real_MMs said, “Na babe wey dey break World Record I wan dey follow now. New babe Tobi Amusan the hurdler.”
However, Damilare John lamented about previously ignoring the new champion.
“If there was any huge blunder I regret making, was the fact that I never pay so much attention to you and I know I will forever regret that. I love you so much dear and I wish we can start the journey of love together again from the scratch.”
“I beg all of you disturbing Tobi Amusan to please leave my wife alone,” Femi tweeted.
“She needs a superman like me,” Dreynation insisted
