Amaju Pinnick tackles the use of laser light on Super Falcons

Amaju Pinnick, The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who is also a member of the FIFA Council Member has tackled the use of laser lights on the Nigerian Female soccer team ‘Super Falcons’ during their loss to the host Morocco in the semi-final clash of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON)

The Nigerian Female team were welcomed with great hostility at the full-filled stadium in Rabat (Prince Moulay Abdellah), Morocco as fans engaged the grinning of laser lights straight into the eyes of the Super Falcons players to interrupt their play in the competition.

Apart from been bullied by the 42,500 spectators, the nine-time winners of the competition were reduced to 10 after Halimat Ayinde, a Super falcon was sent off in the 48th minute following a reckless tackle on a Moroccan player.
Rasheedat Ajibade was also sent off via a red card from the referee Maria Rivet in the 70th minute allowing the Super Falcons to play the remaining 20 minutes of the game with just 9 players after the regulation time and the extra time with just nine women out of 11 women which resulted to a delightful encounter.

In a speech by the Nigeria Football Federation media team, Amaju Pinnick (The NFF president) while applauding the Super Falcons for their extra-ordinary exhibition in spite of all odds also tackled and condemned the use laser lights thrown at the players during the semi-final match with morocco.

“Obviously, we would have been happier to be in the final of the competition and pursue our 10th title. Despite all sorts of hindrances and bullying the faced in morocco, I am glad with the great performance exhibited by the team and the style and way they approached the game,” Amaju Pinnick said.

“Our girls (Suoer falcons) did a great job on a night they were not only exhausted but confronted by laser lights directed on their eyes by the crowd”.
