DSSC Course 2024: The Nigerian Army Releases List of Successful Candidates and Announces Date to Commence Training

The Nigerian Army announced a list of successful candidates for the DSSC Course 2024 course training on May 1, 2024. The list stated that some candidates were on the successful list while others were on the Reserve list.

The Nigerian Army urged all candidates who applied for the DSSC Course 2024 to check if they merited the list so that they can start making adequate preparations for the training.

Many candidates appeared on the list of successful candidates and can proceed to begin with the training, which is starting May 10, 2024.

The Nigerian Army also announced that those whose names appeared on the list of successful candidates should proceed to the Nigerian Defences Academy (NDA), Afaka, Kaduna State, to commence training.

These candidates applied for the Direct Short Service Commission Course 28/2024 and were selected for the recruitment.

Furthermore, the Nigerian Army also outlined the several items and materials applicants must bring. It warned that those not selected should not report to the Nigerian Defence Academy unless contacted.

Items that Successful Candidates are to Bring

The Nigerian Army has announced that successful candidates are to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy with the following materials;

• Original credentials, including online printout showing his/her passport photograph
• Four copies of 5×7 coloured photographs in a suit and a full standing position without a cap/hat.
• Two pairs each of unmarked round white vests and navy blue shorts (without stripes)
• Two pairs of pure white canvas/trainers (rubber type not acceptable)
• Two pairs each of unmarked maroon round-neck vests and navy blue tracksuits (without stripes)
• Two white shirts, one blue shirt, a black tie and a black belt
• Four pairs of white socks and two pairs of black socks
• Two pairs of national dress or suits and casual wear
• One wrist watch
• A pair of black laced shoe
• Swimming trunk
• Two white bedsheets and a pillowcase
• One blanket (grey or army green in colour)
• Two sets of cutleries
• Pressing iron
• Toiletries

Female candidates are also expected to come along with;

• One pair of black lower heel cover shoe
• Two black lounge suit
• A pair of trousers suit
• Two black shorts (tight)

Also, serving military personnel are expected to come with their release letter and passes from their commander and commanding officer.

When is The Date for The Commencement of the DSSC Course 2024 Training

The Date for the commencement of training for the DSSC Course 2024 is May 10, 2024. Therefore, all successful candidates are advised to go to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Afaka, Kaduna State, before that date and come with the stipulated items.

For those on the reserve list (i.e., those not among the successful candidates), you are not expected to report to NDA but will be contacted if vacancies arise. Also note that vacancies for reserve candidates will not be available after May 31, 2024.
