Asuu swears to punish varsities that pulled out of strike-See Why, In the latest development following the conclusion of the Asuu- FG meeting held in Aso villa on the 13th of June.

Asuu has vowed to take disciplinary measures against the chapters that docked out and failed to act in accordance with the ensuing strike and its continuity nationwide.

Recall earlier that the academic staff union of universities engaged in a four-month leading strike in order to effectively voice out their demands to the hearing of the Federal government.

Although not an expected action, some of the lecturers snubbed the call for cohesiveness and resumed academic activities regardless of the course and the recoiling action.

To this, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, the Asuu president responded by threatening to sanction them, which, he made public via an interview in Abuja.

While negotiations were in full swing the Academic staff union of universities mapped out the various varsities that refused to act accordingly to its collective decision and promised to tender queries to them respectively.

In the heat of the matter. Prof. Osodeke also gave insight into the latest Asuu-FG development.

First of all, he affirmed that, indeed, the Association recently engaged with the federal government under the demand of the chief of staff, Gambari Ibrahim Agboola.  He further claimed that their meeting was stale and hit a stone wall as nothing tangible flourished.
