DSS Warning – DSS Warns Against Inciting Comments

The Department of State Services has once more sounded the alarm about potential plans to stir up trouble in the nation. However, it strongly warned against inciting remarks and hate speech directed at the current administration and all elected officials.

In a statement released on Saturday, the group’s spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, urged politicians to refrain from inflaming the political climate despite their plans to seek redress in court.

“The Department of State Services again alerts the public of plans to disrupt peace in the country violently,” the statement’s opening line read. The Service hereby issues a warning to anyone attempting to undermine law and order out of desperation.

“It is clear that some resentful politicians are already abusing this legal system. Without a doubt, this is democracy’s beauty. It is firmly held that this strategy improves peace and security. Everyone should treasure it.

Afunanya warned those disseminating fake news to pitch the citizens against the present or incoming administrations to stop.

“However, the DSS will not tolerate a situation where individuals or groups take the law into their own hands and support anarchy,” he continued.

At the federal, state, and parliamentary levels, anyone using fake news, hate speech, and other false narratives as a pretext to incite violence or unite the populace against the current or incoming administrations needs to stop immediately.

“Those who incite violence have nothing to gain because doing so will consume them and the defenceless. On the other hand, it is disturbing to see well-known people using their platforms to mislead or incite the public. To put it mildly, this does not bode well for harmony and general order.
