Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms where you can meet and chat with friends and relatives. It is a platform that allows you to share pictures, videos, voice messages and chats with others, enabling you to interact with others in different locations worldwide.

This platform, Facebook, was created in 2004 and has become one of the leading social networking platforms with millions of users globally. It enables users to relate with their friends individually and in groups.

With the introduction of Facebook groups, users could meet people with similar interests and share their opinions. But sometimes, you may have joined the wrong group, do not understand or like their activities, and wish to exit it.

Maybe you created a Facebook and your aim of establishing that group was not achieved, and you have decided to delete the group. Either way, you can delete it easily, but remember that this action can never be undone or reversed when completed.

Below are the guidelines you should take.

How to Delete a Facebook Group as the Group Admin

If you want to delete a group (Both private and public) where you are the admin, all you need to do is remove all other members of the group if it is a private group or ban all other members if it is a public group.

After that, you can delete the group, and immediately after it is done, no one will have access to the group, and it cannot be retrieved or restored. Here are the steps for deleting a Facebook group according to your device.

How to Delete a Facebook Group on the Mobile app

Below are the steps you would take:

Open the Facebook app on your mobile device
Click on the menu icon in your Facebook screen’s top-right corner (for Androids) and the bottom-right corner (for iPhones).
Click on Groups
Select the group you want to delete
Click on the page’s title
Tap on Members, then click on See all
Click on the three dots beside each Member’s name in that group, and select Remove Member.
Repeat it to remove all group members, after which you can delete the group.
Go to the group page, click on the Icon in the form of a shield
Scroll to the bottom and click on the Delete Group button
Confirm your decision to delete the group, which will be permanently deleted.

How to Delete a FaceBook Group From the Browser

Open your preferred web browser
Go to facebook.com and login
Click on the menu bar in the top right corner of the Facebook page
Scroll down and click on Groups
On the Group Page, click on Members to access all the members in the group.
Click on the three dots beside each Member’s name
Tap on Remove Member and confirm to remove the Member from the group
Repeat the process for all the group members, and after you have removed all of them, you can now proceed to delete the group.
Tap on the three dots next to your name and select Leave Group
Confirm your decision to leave the group and delete it.

Please Note: Only the group admin can delete Facebook groups, but you can report the group as a group member.
