My Domestic worker held in spite of the court’s judgment – Ejiofor Kanu’s lawyer laments

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who happens to be the lead counsel for the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, has on Friday, cried out over the continued locking up of his domestic staff by the DSS (Department of State Service), since on the 6th of June, 2021, when his family home in Oraifite, Anambra state was attacked by the security operatives.

He also beseeched with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation, to triumph on the Director-General (DG) of the Department of State Security to immediately and absolutely release his domestic staff.

“They are still being unlawfully apprehended in their (DSS) facility since June 2021 till date. We call on the President of the federation and the Attorney-General to please prevail on the Director-General of the Department of State Service to immediately and unconditionally release my domestic worker.

“We also request for the abrupt compliance with all the terms and conditions of the judgment, already served on them”, he said.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor reported these during a press conference held in the FCT, Abuja on the verdict of a Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra state which affirmed the invasion as “cruel, uncivilized, unlawful and unconstitutional.”

Ifeanyi also called for an immediate submission with the court verdict to release his detained domestic workers.

The activist claimed that his house located at Umunakwa Ifite, Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State was on the 6th of June, 2021, illegally attacked by combined operatives of Army, DSS, Police, and Civil Defence during which his Assistant, Samuel Okoro was dreadfully murdered.

To cover evidence, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said that the body of Samuel Okoro was cruelly burnt in his Camry Toyota to ashes by the security operatives.
He (Ifeanyi Ejiofor), however, acknowledged the Federal High Court for the decision delivered in his suit marked FHC/AWK/CS/56/2021 stated that the court’s decision had set the record straight against the rejection by the security operatives.
