The Results for the results show that 1,326 candidates(27.98%) failed.
The results of the 2023 final bar examination which are requirements for being called to the bar were released on Tuesday 6th of July. Which was a date contrary to the earlier proposed (July 3).
The breakdown of the result shows that a total of 5,770 students took the examination with only 0.07% bagging first class.
7.49% had second class upper division while 37.64 % had a second class lower division. 1,725 representing 29.90 percent passed by the cat’s whiskers.
According to the results released by the council of legal education, 35(0.61) students have conditional passes while 60(1.04%) students were absentees.
The results released were fixed ahead of the call to bar ceremony that has been supposed to commence on the 27 of July and spill over to the 28.
The outcome of this year’s result shows that more students failed when put into comparison with previous results.
In January of last year which 632 out of the 2,575 students that participated in the examination did not record success.
Flashback to November 2019, the figures were heightened and a total of 1,230 law graduates performed badly enough to fail. In August 2018, 965 students a 16.51 percentage of the total amount of candidates that sat for the examination did not pass, same happened in 2017, where the total 28% of those who failed were summed up to 596.
