When the Bayern Munich board decided to fire manager Julian Naglesmann early on Friday, it stunned the football community.
According to reports, the Bavarian giants are planning to hire Thomes Tuchel, a former manager of Chelsea and Dortmund.
Goal reports that while Nagelsmann was on vacation, the Munich team didn’t get in touch with him, so he only learned of his dismissal through social media.
The German’s on- and off-field problems, which he was unable to manage for the team’s benefit, reportedly strained his relationship with the board.
The team’s performance in the Bundesliga suffered as a result, as they lost to rivals Bayer Leverkusen just before the international break.
Despite their stellar performance in the UEFA Champions League, the board appears to have been dissatisfied with Nagelsmann’s managerial abilities, particularly off the field.
