Prof Osodeke, ASUU’s President has rejected the offer of N50m to end the ongoing strike action. The Academic Staff Union of Universities( ASUU) turned down Berekete Family radio’s offer to end the strike, causing some minor commotion.

ASUU has been on strike since February, and all attempts to introduce speakers into the classroom have failed.

Ahmad Isah, also known as Ordinary President, invited ASUU president Prof. Emmanuel Osodekeand his platoon to explain why the union is still on strike to Nigerians on Saturday morning.

Isah also bared that he’d set up a special intervention bank account with TAJ Bank to raise finances for the union in order to bring the strike to an end.

Isah made a public display of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State’s N50 million cash donation, presumably to convert ASUU to support the intervention.

At that point, Isah hovered to call off the intervention, and numerous Nigerians who called in during the show called ASUU “ asleep. ”

The demands of the striking speakers include backing for public university revivification, Earned Academic Allowances, University translucency Responsibility result( UTAS), and creation arrears.

Renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU- FG Agreement and inconsistency in the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System are among others.

In a recent interview with Newsmen, Osedeke stated that the Federal Government hadn’t met any of these demands.

“ All of the issues that drove us to strike are still present, including the revivification fund, which entails putting further plutocrats into universities and revitalizing their structure.

The government, according to the ASUU chairman, has also refused to accept UTAS, which he claims was tested and passed with a score of99.3 per cent, in order for scholars to return to the academy, Osedeke prompted the Federal Government to take the necessary way.

There’s also the question of our university payment system.

There’s no university in the world where the Accountant General’s Office pays speakers ’ hires

“ We challenged them to give one; later each, if universities are a unified body, why are they doing effects else? ”

We are talking about the agreement’s concession and the proliferation of universities, among other effects, so there are a lot of issues that haven’t been resolved, ” he said.
