Jamilu Gwamna, the Shettima/Tinubu Campaign Council’s Gombe State Coordinator, has claimed he did not threaten mothers in the state that they would lose their children if they supported the PDP in the elections scheduled for next Saturday.

At a press conference in Gombe, Gwamna made this admission in response to claims made by Ayuba Aluke, the spokesperson for the PDP campaign office, that he had threatened parents in Bolari West in exchange for votes.

Gwamna asserts that the opposition PDP has grown increasingly desperate over time and emphasizes that he would not wish for any Gombe person to perish as a result of any pursuit.

“I went to canvass votes for my party before the upcoming governorship election,” Gwamna remarked. It is a neighborhood I’m proud of and a street I cherish. I went to the crowd to ask for their help in getting my party elected. I urged people to cast their ballots for Governor Inuwa. There was nowhere I mentioned that someone’s mother would give birth to another child; it was a passionate appeal.

“The Peoples Democratic Party previously sent numerous thugs to that region. We merely issued a warning, saying in Hausa, “Anyone who comes near the ballot box that day will be removed,” to the local boys, telling them not to risk it this time. However, they now erroneously believe that to mean that they will be put to death. This is untrue.”

Regarding the rumored threat’s spread, he commented, “This is a typical PDP desperate move, their desperate propaganda, because to be desperate enough to twist something that is not there is really the height of incivility. This is pure desperation; it’s not political.

“To understand that I mean no harm to anyone, especially the people of Gombe State, people should look at my background. I love the people of Gombe State very much, and I will never do anything that could result in the loss of life.” Regarding the APC’s chances in the governorship election, he stated, “By God’s grace, we are in a strong position, and I am confident that we will win on Saturday. Inshallah, on Saturday, we will prevail.”
