Dwayne Johnson – Dwayne Johnson Story On How Dad Rocky Johnson Was Kicked Out Of Home At Age 13
During a recent episode of “The Pivot” podcast, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson opened up about his father, Rocky Johnson, and how he looked up to him as his hero. However, the former WWE Champion admitted that things became complicated between him and his father during his teenage years. Johnson shared a story about how his father was kicked out of their home when he was just 13 years old, which further strained their relationship.
According to Johnson, during Christmas time, his father shared a story from his past where his grandfather had passed away a year earlier, and his mother had started seeing a new boyfriend. One year, during the holiday season, this new boyfriend got drunk and urinated on the turkey they had prepared for their celebration.
This led to an altercation between the boyfriend and Johnson’s father when he was only 13. In a state of intoxication, Johnson’s father drew a line in the ground with a toy gun and warned the boyfriend that if he crossed the line, he would kill him with a shovel. Despite the warning, the boyfriend crossed the line, and Johnson’s father attacked him.
When Johnson was a young boy, his father shared a story about a Christmas celebration where his grandfather had recently passed away and his mother had a new boyfriend. During the festivities, the boyfriend became intoxicated and urinated on the turkey they had prepared, leading to a physical altercation between the boyfriend and Johnson’s father. At only 13 years old, Johnson’s father grabbed a shovel and knocked the boyfriend unconscious. When the police arrived, they warned that either the boyfriend or Johnson’s father had to go, and Johnson’s grandmother chose to kick out her son.
Rocky achieved a successful career in professional wrestling despite experiencing homelessness at 13. He competed in various wrestling competitions from the 1960s to the 1990s and even won several championships, including the WWE Tag Team Championship with Tony Atlas. After retiring from wrestling in 1991, Rocky trained Johnson, who would eventually become a prominent figure in both professional wrestling and Hollywood. Sadly, Rocky passed away in January 2020.
