Popular Kannywood Actor, Kawu Mala Is Dead
The Kannywood movie sector, responsible for creating films in the Hausa language in the northern part of Nigeria, is grieving over the passing of one of its own, Aminu Muhammad, who was famously recognized as Kawu Mala in the Arewa24 television series ‘Dadin Kowa.’
The actor, who had been struggling with a heart-related ailment for some years, passed away on May 7 in the evening. Mala was a well-known actor with an experience of over 20 years, and he gained fame for his lead role in a popular TV series.
Mala, who had a wife and more than 10 children, was buried following Islamic customs on Monday morning at Haye Cemetery in Nasarawa Local Government Area in Kano State.
Mala’s colleague in the acting industry, Murtala Karabiti, expressed his sorrow over Mala’s death, stating that it is a huge loss that has left a significant gap in the industry. Karabiti also highlighted that Mala’s contributions to the growth of filmmaking in northern Nigeria will always be remembered.
According to him, Doctor, who everyone fondly called him, was a friendly person to all and a brother to many of them. He had been acquainted with him for more than two decades, and throughout that period, he had never heard any negative remarks about him. Doctor has passed away, and their responsibility is to pray for his soul to rest in peace.
