You won’t win 2023 general election- Atiku tackles Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has stated on Monday, and has given specific reasons why he decided not to work with Atiku Abubakar the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ‘PDP.

Peter Obi stated this on ‘Channels Television’ during a programme tagged ‘Politics Today.’

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had on Friday said that Peter Obi and the Labour Party could not perform any wonder in the 2023 general election.

Atiku Abubakar, who is Nigeria’s former Vice President to Olusegun Obasanjo, stated his claims in an interview with Arise TV which was broadcasted on Friday morning.
He stated that Peter Obi, who was his former vice presidential candidate during the 2019 general election, and the Labour Party, would not perform any miracle during the 2023 general elections.

Atiku Abubakar also stated that in spite of the social media impression and appropriateness of Peter Obi’s candidacy, the reality remains that the Labour Party does not have prominent people in power nor in the National Assembly.
“I really don’t imagine Peter Obi’s Labour Party to take more votes from the People’s Democratic Party as people are analysing it. The PDP could have witnessed it in Osun State governorship election. The Labour Party’s performance was poor?
“This is a political party that does not have a sitting governor, doesn’t have any member in the national assembly, and doesn’t have any member in the state Houses of Assembly. And politics in Nigeria solely rely on structures you have at those different levels of government; at the local, at the state and at the national level.

“It will be difficult for a miracle to happen for Peter Obi and the Labour Party in 2023.”

Moreover, when Peter Obi was questioned on the Channels TV about the chance of working with Atiku Abubakar, if the chance comes, he stated and said he was in the race to win, adding that he had all the chances to win.

Peter Obi said, “Nobody goes into a competition thinking about the outcome. All the participants aim is going into the contest to win. I, Peter Obi is going into this race to be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria… I think I have all is needed to win.”
