The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships are a great opportunity for exceptional international students to study at the University of Toronto, one of the best universities in the world, located in a highly diverse city.

It is the most prestigious scholarship for international students at the University of Toronto and is only available for first-entry undergraduate programs. Each year, around 37 students are selected as Lester B. Pearson Scholars.

Aim And Benefits Of The Scholarship

• The scholarship program aims to acknowledge students who exhibit outstanding academic performance and innovative thinking and are admitted as influential figures within their school.
• The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships are designed to provide students with financial support for four years, covering expenses such as tuition, books, incidental, and accommodation costs.

Requirements For Scholarship Qualification

• You must be an international student, meaning you are not a Canadian citizen and require a study permit.
• You should be in your final year of secondary school or have graduated in June 2023 at the earliest.

• You must begin your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2024. Please note that if you are already enrolled in post-secondary studies, you are not eligible for consideration. Additionally, if you are starting your studies in January 2024 at another post-secondary institution, you cannot be considered for the scholarship.

Pearson Scholarship Deadlines

• School nomination deadline: The deadline for schools to submit nominations is November 30, 2023.
• Student OUAC admission application deadline: The final date to apply to the OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Centre) is December 15, 2023. It’s important to note that although the deadline is December 15, 2023, applying for admission through the OUAC is recommended before November 7, 2023. This is because program spaces fill up quickly, and popular programs may close early.
• Student scholarship application deadline: Students submit their scholarship applications on January 15, 2024.

How To Apply

To participate in the 2024 Competition, which begins in September 2023, you will be required to complete the following steps for the application process:

• Obtain a nomination from your school: If your high school has not been contacted or verified, they must apply to participate in the program. The application will be available in September. High schools that have participated in previous years will receive access to nominate students starting in early September.
• Apply for admission to the University of Toronto: You must apply to study at the University of Toronto and begin your studies in September 2024. Make sure to complete your application for admission by the specified deadlines.

It’s important to note that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship based on your first program choice at the University of Toronto. While you can apply for multiple programs and receive admission offers for all of them, the Pearson Scholarship, if awarded to you, will be restricted to your first choice of the program when scholarship decisions are made.

• Complete the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application: Once your school has nominated you and you have applied to the university, you can complete the online application for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship. You will receive a private link to the scholarship application once your school has successfully nominated you.
