Diamond Bank partner with NYSC to launch portal for graduate employment
The National Youth Service Corps in collaboration with Diamond Bank Plc has introduced a Curriculum Vitae (CV) portal as part of efforts to reduce unemployment for corps members.
According to Giles (The Head, Retail Banking, Diamond Bank), the youths need an avenue to showcase their talents. He went further to state that it was a good thing that the NYSC bought into this initiative.

“We are proud to work with you (NYSC) and are committed to ensuring the sustainability of this initiative,’’
According to the NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Sule Kazaure, the portal is an initiative of the NYSC Lagos State coordinator, the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development team and a group of corps members.
“The portal is aimed at providing the links between outgoing corps members seeking white collar jobs and employers of labour who desire to employ qualified graduates based on their jobs specifications,” he said during the launch of the portal in Lagos.
Kazaure added that despite the fact that white-collar jobs seem to be nowhere to be found, noting the benefits of self-employment, many graduates/corps members preferred trying their luck by carrying files about in search of employment.
The Director-General stated that the NYSC scheme had been taking steps to empower corps members for self-employment through the SAED programme and the in-camp and off-camp entrepreneurship training in partnerships with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry through which corps entrepreneurs benefit from start-up loans at a reduced interest rate.
