JAMB mock examination slip -Jamb printing of mock examination slip should take effect before 3rd

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board otherwise known as JAMB has demanded that all candidates without the exemption of age and gender sitting for the Mock unified tertiary (UTME) are to reprint their examination slips.

The directive was issued and displayed in the bulletin of the registrar and was later exposed to public eyes via the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) weeks back.

With all the procedures duly observed; some of which includes the printing of examination slips, Jamb has echoed it as a piece of resounding advice to all candidate who has developed an interest in the aptitude test to ensure a reprint of examination slip is effected before the speculated examination date.

“Candidates, who had registered for the 2021 UTME and indicated interest to sit for the optional mock examination, are to reprint their mock notification slips…this is consequent on the change of date for the mock UTME earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 20 and now hold on Thursday, June 3.”

It is imperative to reprint as most of a candidate’s information such as date, center that doesn’t reflect on the slip would appear after a reprint is done.

As disclosed earlier by various news carriages and platforms the optional mock notification slip can be printed anywhere this also applies to the reprint, they both can be done from any center provided there is a stable internet connection.

How to print out a mock notification slip:

Only few steps is required to carry out this exercise first;

— visit the jamb official site by inserting https://www.jamb.gov.ng.

—locate “Facility” then click on it.

I’m pretty sure after doing that all that remains is to print the slip, which can be easily done by clicking on “print”.

Why is it essential to carry out this exercise?

Jamb made it clear that every candidate has a biodata which is made up of his details, this detail involves the registration number of the candidate, the center, examination town, and of course the most important of them all, the expected time to arrive for the examination, This details are found nowhere else except in the reprinted slip.

Just to be on the winning side, every candidate is expected to print and study the containment of their slip in order to avoid mix up in the location, and name of the examination center.

NAN recalls that the jamb Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, had recently made it public that the extension of the 2021 UTME was something inevitable. The total estimated number of registered candidates were as of that time, at an all-time low, a very discouraging figure of about 60,000+ against last years 1million+ this was greatly influenced by the compulsory demand for the use of NIN amid the post-Covid-19 period, as expected, the delay in registration was very much real.

Prof. Oloyede stated that the date for the 2021 mock examination earlier scheduled for May 20th would now be hosted on June 3rd, while the UTME would hold from June 19 and end on the 3rd of July

In related content, parents are advised to avoid falling a victim to extortion from some schools as periods like this are usually capitalized on to draw money from ignorant individuals all in the name of registering children in groups.

For the benefit of the less informed, the UTME/DE differs greatly from WASSCE and SSCE, the need to register students or candidates in groups has no special effect on any existing individual, it doesn’t aid to success in the examination this should be weighed with the fact that schools have no role in this operation process. This exercise requires the individual participation and engagement of a singular person period.

Registrations are strict to be carried out by all affiliated centers appointed by jamb

Furthermore, the weight of emphasis laid on the dire consequences that would erode whichever school using the name of the board to extract money from parents should be something worth considering by aspiring defaulters as its effect may leave whoever is found wanting in an unfavorable situation if they don’t make efforts to desist from such acts.

“Consequently, schools that are using the name of the board to swindle parents of humongous sums of money for registration or other services are hereby warned to desist forthwith”

This statement was made to also serve as a response to the discovery of the series of data mutilation, an act that had ceaseless occurrences.

The cost of UTME forms(ePINs) remains 3,500 with an extra 500 for Reading text, the accredited centers have been instructed to do away with all efforts leading to extortion all for the purpose of services feel(700).
