The Nokia Foundation offers scholarships to individuals pursuing a PhD in information or telecommunications technology or a closely related scientific field. These scholarships can be awarded to those studying for a doctoral degree at a university in Finland or to Finnish students who are studying for a PhD abroad.

About Nokia Foundation

The Nokia Foundation was created in August 1995 by Nokia Oyj to encourage and back scientific progress and education in Finland’s information and telecommunications technology sectors.

The Foundation is open to multidisciplinary research in these areas and other scientific fields, including social, behavioural, business, and service sciences. Every year, the Foundation provides grants and awards to the most deserving candidates to assist in accomplishing its objectives.

Aim And Benefits Of Scholarship

The Nokia Foundation can award a maximum scholarship amount of 6,000 euros, and it is only permissible for an individual to receive the scholarship once.

Requirements For Scholarship Qualification

To apply for the scholarship, the student must obtain a written statement from their main supervisor, a professor, a docent, or a senior scientist affiliated with the university where they are enrolled. The supervisor must submit the statement to the application database.

It’s important to note that the scholarship can only be awarded to the same person a maximum of two times.
