The University of Benin Cut-off mark for all Courses and Programmes

The University of Benin has not released its departmental cut-off marks for all programmes and courses for 2024/2025. Yet there are some things which you have to be aware of concerning not being admitted even after you scored above the cut-off mark, and they include:

Admission Quota

Every department in every university in Nigeria has an Admission quota, which the National University Commission allocates. This admission quota stipulates the number of students admitted to each department.

Also, Check the Nursing Admissions Cut-Off Mark

For example, suppose a particular department is given an admission quota of 100 students. In that case, those students with the highest scores will be preferred and admitted first before others, so you ought to score higher above the cut-off mark to have more chances of getting accepted.

Candidates’ General Performance

The candidates’ general performance in a particular year determines the cut-off mark for that year. For example, if the general performance of candidates who wrote the UTME is good, then the cut-off mark will be higher for that year, and if the performance is poor, the cut-off point will be lowered.

The final mark for a student who determines if they will be admitted or not is derived from two main sources, namely;

  • The Average of the Post-UTME and JAMB score
  • The Student’s NAPTAB/WAEC/NECO score for subjects related to the desired course.

Suppose your average score in Post-UTME and JAMb is good, and your score in O’level subjects related to the University course you wish to study is also good. In that case, you may have a higher mark, increasing your chances of admission.
