Introduction

The Aloe vera is a green plant that is easily noticed with spikes to its side and a succulent fleshy body. Extending to only 60-100cm with slight variations in colours ranging from grey-green to that of fleshy green. It makes its way as of one of the top medicinal herbs.

You would find that it traces its roots from the Arabian Peninsula. In today’s culture, it is found with the premise of soils amidst harsh condition as that of the deserts and semi-tropical areas. The plant has gathered an impressive name for itself at both the home sphere and the beauty industry in African and beyond.

The spike of the Aloe vera trails around makes it easy to make a defence against predators as that of insect pests; spider mites, bugs, insects etc. It grew popular with farmers, first as an ornamental plant and later on, a knight in shining armour.

It became more than that of a scarecrow when the use of its clear gel and yellow latex were carefully studied. The slimy clear gel sips through when the fingers of a single stem are being cut off.

Amazingly, this research opened up a new wave in the study of a medicinal plant so much so it gained massive regard at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Green Merit.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALOE VERA

In Medicine

The traditional medicine has effectively used this item in the effective treatment toward making treatment for the skin.

Modern medicine is yet to adjust perfectly to this blend. It has made headway though; as of 2013, a study with fifty participants found out that people who used Aloe vera gel to treat some burns were of a much better result as compared to the percentile of people who used a silver sulfadiazine cream.

It has been cited for wound healing and pain relief methods. A 2018 study took a peek into one hundred and fifty people digestive system with the added effort of the Aloe vera. It was discovered that these people got relief from their stomach ailment and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The study though hasn’t been confirmed to perfection.

We can make boast of this plant at oral companies such as Oral B, Toothpaste. They are known for improving hygiene and reducing plaque.

In Cosmetics

Cosmetic companies commonly add the Aloe vera gel to make products such as makeup, tissues, moisturizers, soaps, sunscreens etc. This is due to the fact that it has a moisturizing effect. This should be one of the reasons it clear acne on the face. It has been seen that acne products made with Aloe vera that cosmetics product that combines chemicals and Aloe vera is less irritating to the skin.

The moisturizing effect of Aloe vera helps keep the skin clear and hydrated. The harsh conditions in which this plant survival skill makes it possible to store water with its moisturizing effect.

In Culture

The Aloe vera hasn’t been a stranger to the mystic world. It probably deserves all the goosebumps in your body. Mystic’s engage the Aloe vera to retreat negative signals from the body. During the early Egyptian era, a soul is believed to not have a good journey to the underworld if the body isn’t embalmed with the gels of the plant. For a body not to be reincarnated into the same world realm, it also has to be sealed with the grip of Aloe vera. Issh! Seem like this plant has made itself a doorman of the underworld.

How to grow the Aloe Vera?

With all these amazing benefits (and scares), you probably don’t want to be left out on it all, especially considering the fact that is quite affordable.

There is a large scale agricultural production in Australia, China, South Africa etc. which supplies the major route of the cosmetic industry. However, for personalized use, a small supply of its root thrown into a pot or garden with enough sunlight and warmth. Its nature makes it okay to spend little care on it.

Preparing an effective gel of the Aloe vera would be stems cut close to the base of the stem. Most minerals and resources are found there. Taking care to trim the edges, drain out the yellowish latex (except if it is needful for some purpose) and then separate the Aloe from the plant.

Slice the Aloe vera into bits and sizes to obtain enough size to blend in with whatever mixture you have at hand. You can add it to your dietary plans, apply it directly to your skin to make a mild mask for your face to chase away that acne or preferably make a juice out of it.

Though this advantage of Aloe vera is beautifully multitasked, it has been shown that it produces allergies and skin reaction. It would be advisable to meet up with a doctor to know the best treatment for you. If you are not among this category, you should be off to the grocery market.
