Before following the bandwagon to purchase a phone here are some factors you’ll need to consider.

1. Battery capacity

The unstable power supply in Nigeria has made this the number one factor to be considered before buying a phone, battery capacity is a very important factor the only time something like this can be scratched out from this catalog is if you reside where light is very constant.

A lot of gamers and social media influencers also find a low battery very provoking that’s why they always opt for a phone with a battery capacity of at least 4000mAh.

But most average phone users are always okay with a phone of 3000mAh battery capacity, but hey it’s what works for them.

Before walking into a phone store it is good to have in mind that there is no disadvantage to having a strong battery. The higher the mAh, the longer period it’ll last.

2. Memory

All phones whether Feature or Smartphones possess two types of memory. The ROM and RAM.

-ROM- (read-only memory) it’s the memory that is occupied by stored files, the place that contains your videos, photos, apps, and music. This type of internal memory can be expanded with the help of a memory card.

-RAM- (random access memory) it is the memory your phone uses to process applications. This memory determines the speed of your device, however, it cannot be expanded by inserting a memory card, but you can root your device to acquire more RAM space.

Having this in mind, if you are a frequent phone user, you should know that a mere 16GB ROM phone is not enough, opt for something more like a 32GB phone with a 3-4 RAM gig upwards, a less frequent phone user can go for a device of 8-16 GB ROM and a 1-2GB RAM.

3. Camera

If you love mobile photography, you’ll be sure to purchase a phone with a very powerful camera, investing in a device such as that shouldn’t be a matter to be deliberated upon.

If the kind of love you have for photography can’t be quantified, you should have no problem buying luscious devices such as iPhones which are very popular because of their high-quality camera.

An example of a quality camera, is anything above 12MP(megapixel), anything lower would give you something far from a clear picture.

4. Operating system

This is a very crucial aspect of a device because it is what the phone runs on.

There are two types of Operating systems (OS) to make your selection from. Either the Android OS or the iPhone iOS which is exclusively made for only iPhones. If going for an Android operating system, pick one that allows you to update the Andriod version.

5. Security features

Phone security is needful, for the benefit of keeping your private information and confidential files from leaking out it’s best to purchase a phone that supports a variety of security options like a fingerprint, face recognition, an iris sensor, and so on.

If you play games or watch movies, then a phone of at least 5.7 or 6-inch display size should be your bride.

While if you are a social media addict or your main reason for buying a phone is for calling, then a smaller screen size would be appropriate, but let it not go below 5 inches, because the larger the screen, the richer the media experience.

6. Processor

The processor of a phone also determines the speed of the device. It is accountable for the whole performance of a phone. There are numerous amount of processors like Dual-core, Quad-core, Snapdragon, etc.

The processing system of a device is measured in GigaHertz(GHz).

7. Design and color pattern

This is where your taste, is tested. This particularly depends on what you desire no criteria influence this type of decision.

8. Review

Take a peek at other people’s opinions about that phone of your interest.

Reviews are written by individuals who either fell victim to façades or met their optimum satisfaction with a product. A review is a somewhat kind of guidance. It is very essential to read through a phone review before making a purchase that way you’ll know how much influence it has had on a user’s taste to prevent making a wrong decision.

9. Price

This is the most important factor to take into consideration.

Of course, it would be a very bad decision to make if you squander all your salary on a phone, you might have the latest brand, but you’ll also have a shattered budget, it is only if you get aroused with the idea of wallowing in abject penury, then your decision should be devoid of this factor.

If you can’t afford the latest iPhone in the market or Samsung, it is very advisable to get yourself a fairly used one.
