Engineering Scholarships – 5 Great Engineering Scholarship To Study In Canada

International students have frequently chosen Canada as their destination. This is due to the enormous benefits they stand to enjoy, including the same freedoms and privileges that all Canadians enjoy, including respect for human rights, equality, diversity, and a stable, peaceful society. Here are some engineering scholarships that prospective international students can enjoy.

Manulife Engineering Scholarships

The Manulife Engineering Scholarship is for engineers who want to return to school for more coursework or specialized research. Three scholarships worth $12,500 each are available to engineers in this category each year through the Manulife Scholarship program.

Candidates had to be accepted into or be enrolled in full-time in an engineering faculty. Candidates may only submit one application per type of scholarship per year. For consideration, nomination forms must be completed, submitted on time, and adhere to character, word, and page restrictions.

Nominations submitted after the cutoff date or with incomplete information won’t be considered. The same applies to content over the allotted characters, words, or pages. Candidates must show how the degree they are pursuing meets the scholarship’s main objective.

The Engineers Canada Awards Committee assesses each nomination based on the following factors: academic success, the influence and advantages of your field of study, prior work experience, drive, and tenure. The scholarship has a $12,500 value, and nomination forms must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2023, for consideration.

 Hans Klinkenberg Memorial Scholarship

The intended recipients of this engineering scholarship are students majoring in geomatics, a branch of engineering that focuses on geographic data. Grants from $500 to $2,000 are available from the Canadian Institute of Geomatics.

If you have a strong interest in engineering but are not currently enrolled in a four-year university, this award may be your best option. The Hans Klinkenberg Memorial Scholarship, intended for students at colleges and technical schools, is not open to university students.

The advantage of this engineering scholarship is that students can access funds ranging from $500 to $2,000; it should be noted, however, that the deadline for this scholarship is February 15, 2023, so all interested parties should submit their applications on or before that date.

Scholarships for Aboriginal Students

This scholarship is provided by Husky Energy. Husky Energy is one of Canada’s top oil producers based on production and the value of its asset base. It is a fully integrated energy and energy-related business.

In the areas where it supports education in business, engineering, geosciences, environmental studies, computer science, law, or skilled trades, including power engineering and instrumentation technician courses, Husky Energy offers renewable scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates must be in need of financial aid and have a history of employment and community involvement.

Husky Energy also offers opportunities for career advancement through its Community Mentorship Program. The scheme’s financial benefit is $20,000, and the application deadline for the scholarship is May 29.

De Beers Group Scholarships for Canadian Women

To promote women’s participation in academic pursuits in STEM and fields closely related to STEM at Canadian postsecondary institutions, the De Beers Group Scholarships for Canadian Women was established. At least ten (10) scholarships are offered through the De Beers Group Scholarships for Canadian Women. Each prize has a total CAD value of $4,500.

To be eligible for this scholarship,

  • Everyone who wants to live permanently in Canada must be a Canadian citizen or have the right to do so.
  • Every applicant must be a woman.
  • All candidates must begin their first year of an undergraduate degree at a Canadian institution with accreditation.
  • All applicants must be able to get into a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program.

Robert Allan Memorial Engineering Scholarship

A scholarship fund for students wishing to pursue a professional career in naval architecture or marine engineering was established in 1982, thanks to the legacy of renowned naval architect Robert F. Allan, a Vancouver native. The scholarship fund is managed by senior principals from Robert Allan Ltd.

The selection committee selects the student or students most deserving of the scholarship each year. Applications are judged according to their individual merits. The maximum annual prize amount is $3,000 at the moment.

The scholarship money will be given out annually in accordance with selections made by the applicant committee. The scholarship award is always announced in August and only covers the cost of tuition.
