This is why Tinubu chose Buhari’s brother as running mate -Bayo Onanuga explains. The All Progressives Congress( APC) presidential seeker Bola Tinubu has named Kabiru Masari as his handling mate for the 2023 choices.
He said “My running mate Ibrahim Kabiru Masari is our vice presidential designee. He was the Welfare Secretary of the APC under Oshiomhole( former public president of the party), ” he said during the show on Friday. “ He’s a well-known politician in Kaduna State and his name has been submitted.
The Director of Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga has verified that Masari was the name submitted to the INEC as running mate to Bola Tinubu. Masari is from Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“ He’s not really a surrogate per se. He’s just holding forth. The electoral act stipulates that campaigners have the window period to substitute up till eventually in August.

When asked why it’s taking too long to get a competent and salable seeker for the post of the vice-chairman, Onanuga said that the APC flagbearer believes in due process.
“ He just wants to carry everybody along. Indeed the choices will take place in 2023 and the crusade wouldn’t start until September. The window period is still long. There’s no need to rush anything about it.
