Assistant Procurement Manager – Logistics (West Africa)
Location:
Head Office, Oregun, Lagos

Efficient and competitive procurement of products and services that meet specific requirements while collaborating on developing and implementing logistics strategies in the West African market.”
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and advance Unilever’s procurement strategies for the Logistics Category.
- Evaluate, recognize, and choose the suitable supplier base to fulfill the business requirements.
- Take direct leadership or coordinate major procurement projects when necessary.
- Achieve cost savings through sourcing strategies and effective compliance management.
- Continuously enhance work methods and optimize procurement activities.
- Manage challenging and varied customer, supplier, and operational challenges by applying appropriate methods and techniques to find solutions within established practices and policies.
- Guarantee the contentment of Unilever’s internal customers by delivering exceptional services through the procurement organization.
- Head the streamlining of suppliers, materials, and services that align with Unilever’s business needs.
- Foster the growth, guidance, and support of a highly skilled and motivated team responsible for interacting with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Assist senior functional leaders in establishing short and long-term business objectives through collaboration.
- Take charge of cross-functional projects and advocate for Unilever in handling strategic partnerships with external entities.
- Within the Partner to Win framework, identify, cultivate, and oversee strategic business connections to facilitate the execution of Unilever’s growth strategy, revenue targets, and new product development endeavours.
- Assist in sourcing materials and services aligned with the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.
- Possess a strong dedication to talent management, including the ability to identify, nurture, motivate, and retain skilled individuals.

- Planning and Warehouse Managers
- Factory Managers
Relevant Skills:
- Must have a university degree.
- Should have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement within the logistics industry.
- Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics, particularly in road transport, is a bonus.
- Proficient in storytelling, data visualization, and presentation skills.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Professional fluency in English is a must.
