WAEC Releases 2023 WASSCE Results – Check it Now

The 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates have been released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Patrick Areghan, the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office, made this announcement in Lagos on Monday.

Out of the total 1,613,733 candidates who took the exam, the results of 262,803 candidates are currently on hold due to reported cases of exam misconduct.

Areghan highlighted an improvement in the pass rate of candidates. A total of 1,361,608 candidates, which accounts for 84.38 percent, achieved credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, regardless of having English Language or Mathematics.

Furthermore, Areghan pointed out that 1,287,920 candidates, making up 79.81 percent of all candidates, secured credits and above in at least five subjects, including both English Language and Mathematics.

How to Check WAEC Results with SMS

1. Using your mobile device, Type WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear

2. Send to 32327

3. You will receive a message instantly containing your WAEC statement of result.

Please take note: Only subscribers of MTN, Glo, and Airtel are eligible to use the SMS approach to access their WAEC Results. If you haven’t received your WAEC result through SMS, please repeat this procedure.

When using the text message method to check your WASSCE result, standard SMS charges will be applicable.

To check your result via text message, you must have acquired the WAECDirect Scratch card. The PIN from the scratch card should be entered in the designated PIN section of the SMS you will send to 32327.

How to Check via the Website

using your WAEC scratch card follow the procedure provided below

1.     Login to WAEC Result Checker Website www.waecdirect.org.

2.     Enter your Examination Number

3.     Select Examination Type e.g. May/June

4.     Select Exams Year e.g. 2023

5.     Click on Check Result.

How to Check Via Serial Number

To begin, make sure your mobile device has internet access.

  1. Next, go to the website www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Input your ten-digit Examination number.
  3. Provide the Serial Number.
  4. Enter the Examination year.
  5. Click on the “Check my WAEC Result” button.
