Breaking – Ken Nnamani, Ex-Senate President, Loses Wife, Jane.
On Monday, the sad news of the demise of Mrs Jane Nnamani, the wife of the former Senate President of Nigeria, Chief Ken Nnamani, was announced. The news filled her whole hometown with sorrow and sadness.
A family insider reported that Mrs Nnamani, who was in her early sixties, died on May 5th, 2023, in Enugu after undergoing a minor surgery, despite being in good health. She was the wife of a former lawmaker and a mother of four children.
Mrs Nnamani was a thriving businesswoman who dealt in real estate and product distribution, among other family businesses.
Mrs Nnamani, who has passed away, was a well-known philanthropist who, just like her husband, made significant contributions towards the growth and progress of her community in Amaechi Awkunanaw, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state.
Her philanthropic initiatives included providing scholarships to underprivileged students, empowering widows, and developing community infrastructure.
In recent times, Mrs Nnamani undertook the renovation and equipping of the Methodist Church Cathedral in her locality, Amaechi Awknawnaw, Enugu state, which had been in a dilapidated state for many years.
Additionally, she constructed and gifted hostel facilities and residential lodgings to students of higher institutions in Enugu, including the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) Enugu Campus and the Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT).
The passing away of Mrs Nnamani has caused great sorrow and mourning not only among the people of Amaechi Awknawnaw but also throughout the Enugu state.
Mrs Nnamani reportedly died while her husband, the former Senate President, was out of the country. It is said that he travelled to the United States. Senator Nnamani has not yet made any official statement regarding this matter.
President Muhammadu Buhari empathizes with the former Senate President, Ken Nnamani and his family over the passing of Mrs Jane Nnamani. He hopes the Almighty God grants the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
On Tuesday in Abuja, the President’s spokesperson, Mr Femi Adesina, issued a condolence message on behalf of the President, expressing his sympathy for the Nnamani family’s loss.
According to Buhari, the positive impact of Sen. Nnamani’s late wife will be forever remembered by her acquaintances, especially the Amaechi Awknawnaw community, to who she had provided support and comfort too.
He encouraged the Nnamani family to turn to God during this challenging time of sorrow and introspection, recognizing that assistance can only come from Him.
