While preparing for UTME 2024, which you have waited so long for, there are some things you must be aware of concerning the examination, especially the items you must not take to the exam venue.

According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), “these items were prohibited to secure the sanctity and integrity of the Board’s examination.”

In preparation for the UTME 2024 examination, the Board has issued a fresh list of items that candidates must not take to the exam centre. These items include calculators, smartwatches, earpieces, and earphones.

Humanitarian Service Breach: EFCC Unveils Fraudulent COVID 19 funds, Abacha’s Loot, World Bank Loan

The Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has announced a humanitarian service breach, stating that the Humanitarian Ministry has been discovered to be involved in fraudulent activities associated with the COVID-19 fund, World Bank Loan, and recovery of Abacha’s Loot.

The Economic Financial Crime Commission further announced that this humanitarian service breach was due to fraudulent activities in the past. It suspended Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development officials.

The EFCC Stated that it has recovered not less than N32.7 billion and $445,000 through investigating the affairs of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

The Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) made these discoveries about the humanitarian service breach caused by fraudulent dealings related to COVID-19 funds, Abacha’s Loot, and World Bank loans, which the Federal Government released to them to help sponsor them in their poverty alleviation programmes.

According to the EFCC, “At the outset of the Investigation, past and suspended officers of the Humanitarian Ministry were invited by the Commission, and investigation into the alleged fraud involving them has yielded the recovery of N32.7 billion and $445,000 so far.”

“Discreet Investigations by the EFCC has opened other fraudulent COVID 19 Funds, the Woorld Bank Loan and the Late General Sani Abacha’s recovered loot released to the MInistry by the Federal Government to execute its poverty alleviation programmes.”

“Investigations have also linked several interdicted and suspended officials of the Ministry to the alleged financial malfeasance”, The Commission further stated.

  • After the pre-payment form submission, you will be directed to Remita, where you will get an RRR invoice, which you will use to pay for the application form.

How to Apply

After you have reviewed and completed the list of the National Open University of Nigeria admission requirements, you can apply to study at the university. Below are the guidelines on how to apply to study at the National Open University of Nigeria.

  • Visit www.nounline.net
  • Go to the menu bar on the homepage and click on Apply for Admission
  • Select either Undergraduate or Post-graduate programmes
  • Move over to “Choose faculty” at the left-hand side of the screen
  • Select your Faculty and fill out the form displayed on the screen
  • After you are through with filling out the form, you click below it to view the admission requirements for that faculty
  • Then, you click on “Apply now” to continue.
  • You will see a Unique ID displayed on the screen; before you proceed, ensure that you have a means of remembering it easily.
  • Click on the “Continue” button to proceed
  • Select your preferred bank to make payment.
  • Tap “Pay”, then generate, copy and take your RRR to your nearest bank branch to make the payment.

  • Go back to that page and complete steps 1 to 3

The Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) has announced an ongoing recruitment for males and females, inviting them to apply for its 76 regular Courses. The Academy also stipulated a list of criteria every applicant must meet to be eligible to apply.

According to the announcement, the application is strictly meant for males and females between the ages of 17 and 21, stating that any applicant above that age will not be considered.

The application period for the NDA 76 regular courses recruitment started on October 30, 2023, and will end on April 30, 2024. Therefore, all applicants must submit their application details and complete the requirements before the deadline.

Requirements for Applying for the NDA 76 Regular Courses Recruitment

To apply for recruitment to the 76 regular courses of the Nigerian Defense Academy, one must complete various requirements.

For applicants to be eligible for admission, you must:

  • Be Physically and medically fit
  • Must be a single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or individual.
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 21 as of August 2024 (applicants must not be less than or above the stipulated age)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 ordinary level credits in SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NBAIS, and NAPTAB) or GCE in English language, Mathematics and three other subjects that are relevant to the programmes you intend to apply for in not more than two sittings.
  • Candidates must have passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attained the minimum national standard stipulated by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
  • Applicants must not be 1.68 meters tall for males and 1.65 meters tall for females.
  • Applicants must submit their form with their O’level results.
  • Being knowledgeable in French, Arabic, and Mandarin is an added advantage
  • Candidates who are still awaiting their O’level results are not qualified to apply
  • Your O’level result must not be more than five years old from the date of examination
  • Applicants must also apply for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination (JAMB) and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that same year.
